The Santa Ana Zoo!!! I took my son there several times. I don't think I've taken Marley.

The biggest memory I have of the SA Zoo is going to see the Capybaras. I had never seen one and when I went to the enclosure, there weren't any out and about. I read the description which said it was the largest member of the rodent family. So, I am expecting something the size of a small cat. Maybe. I happen to look up and see one. I screamed. That sucker was the bigger than my dog! I'm glad the zoo was pretty much empty that day. It was less embarassing that way.

I'm glad your son didn't break out in hives! What a lot of nonsense you have to go through, though -- and your son too.

When our eldest was a toddler, she had a horrible reaction to mosquito bites. For almost a year, that made my life pretty hellish -- the nursery school teachers refused to believe that what she had was merely had an allergic reaction -- and until we finally managed to get a good dermatologist, we couldn't make them believe us. None of that is as hard as what you have to go through with eczema, so my hat is off to you and your son.
