I think you nailed the ‘writing for work/writing for fun’ conundrum. I have been so busy writing for clients, that I just don’t feel like writing for fun at the end of the day. The fingers can only tap on the keyboard for so many hours a day.

How long have you been blogging? After four years I find myself repeating on holidays. I posted a St. Patrick’s buffet taken from past Irish posts, but I did add a new picture. The ferry boat to Logan airport was decorated for Paddy’s Day. Guess who took pictures?

Yeah, I can relate. I just joined facebook, and I’m blaming that for my lack of ideas for my blog. I am also hoping to get into the more lucrative side of writing again, but so far haven’t done it. Sigh. Who has time? Between french class and teaching and staring at the computer screen, I’m swamped.

But if you were here, or better if I was there (better beer selection in the US), I would totally drink a pint with you for St Patrick’s Day, even though I’m not Irish and suspect you aren’t either.

I totally know where you’re coming from!! I go through cycles and the one that seems to last the longest is the not wanting to do anything one. What is the weather like where you are? I know that the weather warming up has helped motivate me lately. People always tell me when I’m in my slump to get up, get out, get moving! It never works for me but maybe it would for you. What works for me is to ride it out. And spend too much time reading blogs.

The weirdest thing that my husband had me do to numb up is play video games. I broke my toe one time, and it seriously worked better than drugs for helping me forget about the pain–no joke. He even bought me a nintendo DS game to help deal with the pain of two months of pre-term labor :o)
