I’m trying to teach my “princess” not to do exactly this! If it were up to her, she would have a palace FULL of people to do her bidding. I think I’m pretty well inoculated against pouty little sad faces by now.

I think you said the right thing. Isabella (3) demands things all the time and I usually don’t say anything. Kids need to learn however that they’ll be respected and answered in life more successfully if they say please etc. Sometimes I forget no one else is telling them that! Plus I am daddy so what do I care if they say please or not

That is too funny. I once complained to a friend about my husband playing the electric guitar (unplugged) while I am watching TV. He thinks that because is is unplugged it isn’t still noisy. It IS. I made some comment about how you’d think after 20 years of marriage, he would know it bothered me and he wouldn’t do it anymore. She just looked at me and said, “You’d think after 20 years of marriage, you’d know he wasn’t going to stop.” I had one of those blinky-eyed, cricket chirping moments. It was pretty funny.

Not really related to your story but it reminded me of that one, nonetheless.
