Girl, I love me some ABBA! I was just rocking out to it the other night while making dinner. When I sing and dance to it at home my boys like to tell me, "Mommy, not every song is for Dance Party USA!" Take a Chance on Me and Dancing Queen are my go-to singalong faves. I'm turning 40 this year and I say Bring. It. On.

I love Abba. Ever since I was 10 and a new girl moved in next door. She was foreign, and hence exotic. She had the most sophisticated taste in clothes (for a ten year old) and music (Abba when all others were listening to Cyndi Lauper and Bryan Adams) and an accent that made her speech sound lyrical and magical. I know now she had a downmarket Scottish brogue, but I was young and impressionable. I think of her whenever I hear Abba, and then I have a real longing to drink Iron Bru and eat shortbread.

But I can not wait to see Mamma Mia. A grecian island. Remington Steele. Mark Darcy. Karen Blixen. AND ABBA!
