This is what the noontime sky looked like the day of the Camp Pendleton fire:

I was in Idaho this summer when there were fires all around the area. Not close enough to evacuate, but we had to stay indoors just to be able to breathe. Happy WW!
That looks very surreal.
Very nice picture you have here - Hapy WW! Wish you a nice Halloween
It IS a beautiful area, normally….I’ve been there many times! Isn’t that just way too sad? I feel deep compassion for all the Californians!!!
[drop by my halloween costume and outdoor decor if you can find time.]
Great pictures, but it’s so sad what’s happening there.
Nice picture. Happy WW.
It will be nice to have our skies back. It’s much better this week, but still hazy. When things are clear, it’s hard to stop drinking in the beauty.
I have seen some amazing pictures of the fires. Hopefully the smoke clears out soon for you folks!
wow, that is amazing!!
Thank God you and yours are all okay.
Wow! What a difference! Happy Halloween and Happy WW!
It looks like someone added sepia tone to the first picture.
Amazing, in a scary way.
Jeez, that’s scary.
A very unique picture of the sky with the smoke for WW. Thanks for sharing this.
Goodness! I hope that the air quality isn’t tearing up anyone’s lungs.
That was a whole lot of smoke!!
I live in an area prone to forest fires. A few years ago there was a monster to the west of us that burned over 450k acres. The ash drifted for many miles and coated everything. It was weird to be outside, the skies were orange and the ash floated down like snowflakes.
A few good rains will scour all the crud out of the sky. If only it was able to erase everything everyone in your region has been through in the past 10 days.
Thanks for the before and after pictures… the after is definitely better.
Happy WW!! Happy Halloween,too!
What a huge difference! It was like that up here at the lake this summer during our fire. I hope it blows out soon!
Asthmatics must be in rough shape right about now
Just looking at that photo makes my lungs ache.
